Do you supply mechanical seals for all manufacturers?
Yes. We work independently of brands: whether an EagleBurgmann, John Crane, Flowserve, AESSEAL or OEM part is installed, we supply the equivalent or an alternative better suited to your operating point, matching dimensions, medium and installation.
What information do you need for a quote?
Shaft diameter and medium are enough to start. A photo of the seal or the nameplate speeds up identification. Temperature and pressure help with material selection.
Is repairing a mechanical seal worth it?
We check that free of charge before you decide. Depending on design and condition, repair typically costs 40–60 % of the price of a new part, in suitable cases you save up to 70 %. If a new part is more economical, we tell you just as clearly.
Can you identify an unknown seal without a nameplate?
In most cases, yes. Shaft diameter, working length and a photo are usually enough to identify it, even for older plants without documentation and for OEM-specific designs.
Which material combination is right?
That depends on medium, temperature and solids content. Carbon/SiC is the proven all-rounder for water and food, SiC/SiC for abrasive media, tungsten carbide for sludge and high pressures. For the secondary seals: EPDM for water and CIP caustic, FKM for oils and fats, FFKM for aggressive chemicals. We advise you before you order.
What do the dimensions to DIN EN 12756 mean?
The standard defines key connection and main dimensions as well as material codes, including shaft diameter d and working length L1K. This is the basis for matching seals between manufacturers. We check actual interchangeability based on design, dimensions, materials and operating conditions. We also match non-standard sizes from a photo and dimensions.
How much does a mechanical seal cost?
That depends on design, shaft diameter and material combination: simple elastomer bellows seals start in the low double-digit euro range, cartridges and custom designs cost more. What matters most is the right combination for the medium: the right seal is almost always cheaper than the consequences of a wrong one. With three dimensions and a photo you usually receive a concrete quote within 24 hours on working days.
How fast can you deliver?
Common designs in standard shaft diameters are often available at short notice, custom designs and repairs are priced by effort. The quote always states a concrete date. If a plant of yours is down, tell us: then we prioritise.
Can you deliver with our own material or SAP number?
Yes. Every delivery has a unique LuWo item reference, on request with labels showing your own material, SAP or stock number. The part is assigned to your stock at goods receipt straight away, and reordering later runs via a known number. For maintenance companies, pump service firms, plant builders and OEMs we can ship neutrally on request.
Do you also repair pumps?
No, we are sealing specialists: we supply, repair and identify mechanical seals and seal-related components. This focus is the reason for our in-house depth in repair.
