The honest answer depends on the gauge. That is why we check first and you decide with the fixed quote. As a rule of thumb:
- Large nominal sizes and custom designs with a high new-gauge value
- Contact gauges: contacts, pointer and movement can be repaired
- Gauges with diaphragm seals, where the value lies in the diaphragm unit
- Older plants for which the matching gauge is no longer available from stock
- Simple standard gauges in small nominal sizes
- A damaged case or broken window with consequential damage
- Measuring ranges that never suited the application
- Repeated failure, then we first clarify the cause
We do not live from repairing everything, but from giving the right recommendation. That is why every assessment also includes the new-gauge option with a price.

How much does pressure gauge repair cost?
That depends on design, nominal size and condition. After the check you receive a fixed quote, and you only decide once price and scope are in black and white. If a new gauge is more economical, we say so openly.
Is repairing a pressure gauge worth it?
Often yes for larger nominal sizes, contact gauges, gauges with diaphragm seals and custom designs. For simple standard gauges in small nominal sizes a new gauge is often more economical; we give you our assessment before you decide.
How does sending in work?
Informally: pack the pressure gauge securely, enclose a contact person and reference and send it to LuWo-Seal Dichtungstechnik GmbH, Langwieder Hauptstraße 2–4, 81249 Munich, Germany. After receipt we check the gauge and get back to you with an assessment and a fixed quote.
How long does the repair take?
That depends on design, condition and spare parts availability. The fixed quote always states a concrete date. If a plant of yours is down, tell us: then we prioritise the check.
Which brands and designs do you repair?
All of them: from diaphragm to Bourdon tube gauges, we repair every type of pressure gauge, independently of the manufacturer. Including capsule and contact gauges as well as liquid-filled gauges and gauges with diaphragm seals.
Do I get the pressure gauge back tested?
Yes. Every repaired pressure gauge passes the final inspection in our QM system to DIN EN ISO 9001 and comes back ready to fit with a documented test result. Which test intervals make sense in practice is explained in our guide (in German) Testing and calibrating pressure gauges (German).
What happens if the gauge cannot be repaired?
Then the assessment comes with a direct quote for a suitable new gauge, brand-independent and matched to connection, nominal size, range and medium.
How do I send in the pressure gauge correctly?
Do not open the gauge and remove media residues where possible; if that is not possible, please note the medium on the delivery note. Pack it shock-proof and send it to us: Langwieder Hauptstraße 2–4, 81249 Munich, Germany. On request we document the test result with photos.
